Meet the maker
Pookalu is a one-person embroidery studio in Crawfordville, Florida. I embroider every sweatshirt to order, one at a time, on a multi-needle embroidery machine, and all of the embroidery is done in-house.
My mother sewed clothes for me, and now I machine embroider for others. Years ago I dabbled in hand embroidery, learning French knots, bullion roses, and stem stitch. Many years later, I discovered multi-needle machines and decided to make the leap. Sewing has always been a calming craft for me, and I love the art of it.
These days, I have some confident senior Westies who run the house, and I’m just here to make the merch.
